My Quest

So my quest this past three days has been to make 87 dollars, because I over drew on my debit card. Which I didn't even KNOW you could DO!
Glad to save I made the money, but it still doesn't stop me from being pissed off I have to give the bank more then half my earnings for this three days!

I keep getting talked into doing stuff I don't want to do. Like, at work...if someone says "Can you work for me on this day?" I always say "I don't think I can" Because I have like TWO days off as it is...then they're like "Oh, but I have a date." Or
"Oh, I have to take my father to the doctor."
or
"Oh, I'm a lazy fuck nuget who doesn't want to work!"

And I end up feeling bad...and working.
I'm so tired. It's bad.

My show is on the 15th! So if you guys haven't heard....PLEASE COME!

I have a funny ass story for all of you- however it's 2 in the morning, and I can't be funny this early.
So I have a cool link!

no music
suns clear haze
Shining off new cars
Passing frantic-

Hidden
soft places
Like flowers
sprung from cracks
In pavement-
cracks made by our screams
spinning like small children
Unafraid of falling too hard
spit up stuck to the sides of
Our mouths
the music we sung together
Happiness
should have been wrapped tightly
On graduation day
handed to me like
Glowing glory.
Instead
good byes-
And hellos that wouldn’t last long enough
To make music,
Only small riffs of saxophones
beats of snare drums
while you tapped
On parts of myself
Once sectioned off,
too afraid to be touched.
Thought about asking you to dance-
Instead-
I’m going to teach myself to sing.

WHO EVER SMELT IT...

So today I went to the bookstore with my best friend, which isn't anything out of the norm, and is hardly worth mentioning, except for something that happened which bugged me! So, I have a little cold, and my nose is stuffed up, so smelling anything isn't really working for me right now- however when I got to the poetry section I could detect a slight odor in the air. I wasn't sure what it was, but my nose was stuffy, so I didn't really mind all the much.

Well, I'm looking through books, minding my own business, when one of the sales clerks walks over with a stack of books on a cart which have to be stocked in the poetry section. I don't think much of the girl’s presents- because she was several shelves down from me, and I was taking my sweet time. Well, I notice she starts to sniff. Sniff like she smells something. I had in fact noticed the smell when I first came over, but like I said, it didn't bother me because of the cold.

Well, soon she starts to sniff more, and puts her fingers up to her nose, trying to block the smell. I glance over, and shake my head, saying to myself "Poor, thing. I bet she wishes she had my cold." Then went back to the book of haikus I was thinking about buying.

She kept stocking the books, and the fact she smelled something was very clear at this point. So- she starts to look over at me. I notice, but don't think anything of it. Then it dawns on me...Omg- this girl thinks I farted!
For some reason I panicked. I wasn't really sure what to do or say. Should I say "Oh. No. That wasn't me, the rancid smell of shit was here before me"
I was angry for a moment "Who does this girl think she is? Jumping to the conclusion that I let one rip...what is she trying to say? I look like the type of person who cuts the cheese in the poetry section of a book/music super store?"

Then I was worried again. "Had I farted? No, I would have known. I would have walked away. Wait- would I have known? Am I slowly losing control over my bodily functions at only 18?!"

Finally I couldn't take it, and I grabbed a book and walked away.
NOT the book I wanted. Those evil clerks accusing eyes drove me out of the poetry section.

I mean - if I was going to fart in the bookstore, I would do it in a section no one cares about, like international cookbooks, or self help.

Now I have a strange urge to go back to the store, find the girl, and scream 'WHO EVER SMELT IT-DELT IT.... BITCH!'
Then I would go over to the computer science section, take a dump, then walk away very pleased with myself.

Fuck The History Channel

I watched a documentary on world war II- because that seems to be all the history channel runs anymore. Why was I watching the history channel? Cartoon network was only a few short clicks away- but NO. That would have been too easy.

So now I’m all pissed off at Hitler, which I know sounds odd- but I'm really angry. I snapped at my mother, and screamed at my niece, all because I was mad about what happened in 1939.
It was the look in those poor people's eyes as they told their stories. First I wanted to cry- but because I’m off human emotions and carbs for a few weeks- I just got pissed! However I've been mad for weeks now, this only made it worse.

In other news- I'm once again friendless.
I'm not sure how you meet friends? Everyone with any meaning in my life has gone away to college, or found themselves soon to be husbands? What is that? Who gets married at 23?I mean really, aren't you suppose to be serial dating and having sex with random people you pick up in bars at 23? That's what i'll be doing at least. Okay- see, that's me speaking in angry again. I don't want it to seem like I have no one, I do have one friend I do still have in the area, and I do love her. It's just I would like more.
It isn't that I don't have people in my life...I do. Lots. At work, around town...people love me. But when do you cross that line that lies between girl who works at the music store, and friend?

Dating doesn't seem to help- because I've been so mad at the world, I scare most people away. WHEN WILL I BE CUTE AGAIN!?

So- I wrote a poem to my one friend, who I seem to be missing the most- and the most angry at.



Smooth and Connected

I am not to proud to beg
For your return
Smooth and connected as
We once were.
I wonder if you miss my scent
Or smile
The way I seem to be missing
Sections of yourself
Friendship is blind
And pieces of myself have become
Splintered in your absence
You were glued to chunks of
My history
The more you pull away
The more I will lose of myself-
Have to rebuild
Replace
Stick in new feelings,
Melt them to my body like wax

PS- I won a poetry contest held by Bassey Ikpi- who is one of my few friends left! I entered the contest, and afterwards we became uber tight. I'm only a little addicted to her work...alright, alot, but I have to slow down, and give my twix addiction equal time.
